Re: Huh? really? why?

Roasting tires is fun, but more fun to watch someone else trash their stuff. I would worry about destroying sheet metal when the tire comes apart. If you have a line lock it doesn't strain the drive line or brakes

I guess I wasn't clear enough the first time...DO NOT post a link here to anything that contains profanity. It is against site rules. I removed one of the links that you posted above because of profanity. Please do not do it again. Thank you.

What a nice way to say cut it out. I commend your politeness. I am a member of a boating forum that bans you for infractions, first offense usually 30 days. It goes up from there.

That's something I've always appreciated about this site. I like to read it with my sons, and it's nice to know I don't have to worry about content.

I was at a Super Chevy Show one time watching the 'Burnout' contest. This kid pulls up in a newly frame off resto 70 El Camino. He procedes to roast the tires until one explodes and rips the trim off the passenger side and messes up the paint. Then he gets out of the car and takes a bow.
I figured daddy must have paid the bill.

Re: Huh? really? why?

Sometimes it is easy to miss some of the language on these videos and these things do happen.

As far as smoking tires ... its fun to watch but I can't afford to burn tires up like that. In my old age ... I enjoy the sound of a BB idling. It brings back a lot of fun memories.

Re: Huh? really? why?

I respect my vehicles too much to do such a thing...or appreciate others doing it. The only time my stuff screams or burns rubber is when it's going somewhere...FAST!!! I had a tread separate on my work truck just going down the hiway. It damaged the bottom of the bedside behind the wheel badly and caused my exhaust to hang lower. I've seen plenty of carnage from burnouts. Y'all can do what you like, but in my mind it's senseless.

Re: Huh? really? why?

Like 70 cst, I like to just cruise and listen to the rumbling BB.

I never got the concept and sinkin $$$ into your pride an joy and then trashing it. There's no talent involved in it.

Whatever floats ur boat I guess!
