First of all I would like to thank everyone for your input so far on my project even though it's only been about 2 weeks. I bought the truck in 99 and drove it till 2005 and then took it over to my fathers. He drove it around town and used it for hauling what ever around for the last 6 years. I went and got it about 2 weeks ago to be able to do what i wanted to do to it in 99. I have some pics of what my truck looked like about 2 weeks ago and what I have done to it since.

In the last 2 weeks I have done the grill conversion, dropped the front by using 2" spindles and 2" drop coil springs. I had put on 4" drop leaf springs in 99. I have the C-notch kit and shackles to drop the rear 2" more. I can't wait till the truck sits level. I also changed out the mirrors. I found the seat over at U-pull it for $52. I also put on some door panels the old ones really needed some attention. I got the windows tinted yesterday and put in a new stereo with rear speakers. The truck was pretty plain to begin with. I have also ordered carpet for now althought I am going to put in a 700R4 so I will change the carpet once again when that happens. I also need to install my roll pan. Here are a few more pics.

I took the truck in yesterday to get 2 new tires and do the alignment. I didn't know that I was suppose to knockout some blankoffs for the UCA to do the alignment. I may take it in to another place and let them know the situation and see how far off the camber/caster is off. They can set the tow/in tow/out. Someone on the forum said they had no issues with the alignment although the blankoffs were on the truck. I just want to see what another place says. The first place didn't even want to take a look at with the blank off still in. I hope to drop the rear this week so I can figure what shocks to get for the rear. It's a work in progress so I will update as I get more done.

Well I was able to complete the C-notch in about 9hrs with my Father-in-Law. Here are a few pics. I will hopefully get to put on the roll pan sometime this week.

I took it to another place to have them check the alignment. I told them that the "Knockouts" were still in the UCA but if they could check the alignment anyways and let me know how far it was out. They said ok and everything checked out with in spec. I was pretty happy about that.

I was able to get the bumper off today and put the roll pan. It all lined up good except the bottom of the roll pan wants to kick out on the bottom on one side. I will fab up some brackets that I can pull the bottom in to match the body lines. I need to make a run to the dump to get rid of all the stuff that has come off the truck.

I was able to get a hold of a Turbo400 with all the accessories to bolt it right up to my truck. I got the Transmission, flywheel, cooling lines, cross member, driveline all for $150. Not a bad deal. I will have to get the drive line cut it came off of a long bed. I am going to use the tranny till I can afford to buy my 700R4 beefed up to hold the amount of torque and HP from the motor I plan to put in the truck.

Just an update. I was able to get the Turbo400 swap complete and am loving it. I hope to eventually get a 700R4 but that will way down the list of items to complete. I am happy to have an automatic in the truck. I don't mind driving standard but for some reason in this truck it just wasn't something I enjoyed.
I just got it in today and have driven it several times around town and there seems to be no issues. I still need to take care of the wiring on the switch for the clutch and of course to also remove the clutch pedal. The big thing was getting the truck functional with the auto transmission.

I was able to remove the clutch pedal assembly and wire for the clutch pedal switch that allows you to start the engine. I was taking off the door pillar mouldings/plastics to paint and then decided to take the dash out to give the truck a good cleaning and to paint the dash black. It sure was dirty after all the years my father drove the truck on dirt roads. I got it cleaned up and will hopefully paint tomorrow. Here are a few pics of the before cleaning.

Cool stuff man, how hard was it to tear that dash apart like that?

It actually wasn't to hard to do. There were a few bolts on the rear of the driver side that were a little hard to get to but if I had dropped the steering coulumn it would probably been easier. It took me about 2 hours to get it all out. I got everything painted today and it looks awesome. I will hopefully get it installed tomorrow before going to work.

Here are a few more pics after cleaning under the dash. In the final picture you might see a orange wire with white plug over by the blower motor. Can any one tell me what the wire is for? It is bundled with the black wire that goes to the blower.

Here is the dash after it was painted and ready to be installed. I will do that on Tuesday.
What do you all think of leaving the bezel gray since my truck will be black and silver?

Looks like the orange wire goes to the blower.

I replaced the blower about a month ago and there are two wires connected a purple one and a black one. I wonder if the orange one goes where the purple one is. Everything seems to work fine. To me there seems to not be as much air out of the vents at it use to have. That was before the blower swap.

EDIT: On the drawing above there are two blowers one has the black and purple (by the letter "D" to the far right) and the other has the orange and black. Anyone know what the difference is between the two?

The dash is back in and there were no left over screws. LOL Let me know what you think. Next I will try to tackle the carpet once again.
