Proportion or combination brake valve

Looking for some insight into my proportion/combination valve issues. It is leaking...again. 4th one, 1st was out of warranty, 2nd company wouldn't offer warranty, 3rd failed, 4th was a warranty for 3rd, now is out of warranty...

It's the typical PV-2 replacement valve, and I've found lots of info on leaking valves, but no conclusive evidence for positive end results. Mine is leaking out the rear output, out of the weep hole.

It's been quite frustrating. It was not leaking before I parked for winter, and was not leaking 2 days ago, now it's leaking and actually drained the rear reservoir for rear brakes. It just barely affects brake feeling, also must have something wrong with brake light has it hasn't gone off...

Re: Proportion or combination brake valve

I had the same issue. Couldn't find any info as to what causes the leak or if it could be repaired. I just ended up replacing it with the cheapest priced one I could find. The first valve I purchased from one of the big catalog vendors, second one was from fleabay. Both were the exact same part but with a $50 price difference.

Re: Proportion or combination brake valve

Summit Racing carries some valves. I have been running one in my Dodge for quite a few years. The valves are pretty basic. look for a disc/drum with the same same line size fittings.

Re: Proportion or combination brake valve

Where did you get yours from? I went through this and finally went with inline tube. Haven't had any problems since.
