Re: Your first 67-72 pics

It's been sitting like that for 8 years unfortunately. Money is the main issue. I have another frame for it but I've got to see if I can get it cleaned up and sanded with an air sander and some rattle can Rustoleum. Then the really big problem is transferring the cab over on my own.

Re: Your first 67-72 pics

Okay, here's mine, my friends and I called it the "Pumpkin". 71 stepside with a straight six and 3 on the tree when my dad bought it for me as my first car when I was a freshman in high school. It was pretty much an all original truck when we purchased it. We replaced the motor and tranny with a 327 and a 350 tranny. It was our first experience at everything involved in swapping a six cylinder for a V8 in these trucks and we learned a lot from it. Cut the coils in the front and heated the springs in the back to get it to sit right (believe me, it didn't ride well at all!). Sold the truck my senior year to fund our next project (chopped and shaved 67 short wide). I've got a lot of great memories of this old truck and I guess you could say it's where my love for the 67-72's started. Forgive my clothes in the picture, it was 1992!

I would hate to see what the tuner looks like if it did that to american steel. Hope it gets a new life once again. Matt

I've seen this truck around before.... Just can't remember where. Think I've seen if a few times.

Edit- Here's a pic the day I got mine in June '09.

Re: Your first 67-72 pics

I started late I guess. I didn't get into trucks until the early 90s and haven't left since. My first 67-72 (and only except for a parts truck) is the 70 I got in July of 2002. It is getting closer to being on the road again and no more 6 banger.

Re: Your first 67-72 pics

After wanting one of these trucks BAD since I was 12, I got my first one when I was 20 in 1987. After working on it a little (primer on front) I found the black truck and sold the green one.

In hindsight yes, but I only paid 2,200 for the black one that was wayyyy nicer than the 6 cyl. stick stripper that didn't even run!

Love to buy them both back today for what I paid for them!
