The filament in the tail light bulb acts as a pull-down resistor to ground. That's why a resistor needs to be added into the circuit if/when you run LED tail lights (because an LED has no filament and does not allow current to flow backwards through it).

Ahh, now I see. Thanks.

So would the TCC not having a ground cause my problem of a binding feel after driving for a while? This post here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...1&postcount=13

I got it Shaun. I need the the config file that you used for my scanner. Also, I sent you one I use to log more tranny information. It's my understanding that if TCC line pressure is 0 psi, the converter is unlocked. If you have TCC line pressure, then the converter is locked. Send me the tune also, if you don't mind. I would like to take a look at it also.

Re: Torque Converter lock up

Hart,

You should have a tune.
I will send you a log and a .cfg as well.

Yes, from what I am seeing 0psi is unlocked and >0psi is some form of lock up. But what I have not seen is a specific psi=% of lock up. I am not sure it could be a direct linear function. I would think it would be a bell curve. 50% max TCC line pressure might act more like 75% lock up.

Shaun - got the .cfg and a log, but no tune. I don't think there is a % of lockup, I think it is either locked or not. With the new .cfg that I sent you, you can see TCC slip and maybe that is what you are talking about. I'm still working my way around the A6 tables, so still in the learning process.

Re: Torque Converter lock up

Hart,

My guess is with a stock converter being as tight as it is, you are correct it would act either locked unlocked simply by adding line pressure. But what happens with a loose stall? Does minimal pressure create partial lockup? That is what I am curious to know.

The first e- mail I sent you should have had the tune. Yesterday's was just cfg and log. I will try and resend tonight just incase.

Shaun - I got the .cfg. Try using the .cfg I sent you so we have more data to look at.
