Convert 4x4 to 2wd
How hard is it to convert a 69 4x4 blazer to a 2wd, if I have the cradle. And also can the cradle be from another 2wd truck, or does it have to from the same year blazer. And does any one have a picture of one done.

There was a couple of guys that helped me with this B 4 I changed my mind, the posts are gone now that the upgrade took place, maybe they will see this and reply? If I remember right, it was easier than I thought it would be.

Check out the post for pics of 2 wheel drive blazers. At the bottom of the 1st page a board member by the name of bigbluthng has a converted 2wd blazer. I don't know if he did it or someone else. The cradle, if you are referring to the crossmember, is the same for all year trucks from 67-early 80's to include the PUs. If it is complete then you have everything you need to bolt in. If not you will also need A arms, springs, spindles, calipers, roters, tie rod, links, etc... Good luck, I am also contemplating a swap because 2wd blazers are so hard to find. I just get a 4wd and convert it.

i have done it ... its not bad as long as you don't mind the rear leafs... the frame is to narrow to put in the coil setup without major mods... the front will bolt in once you drill holes and get rid of all the 4x4 stuff ... if it helps here is a pic a my factory 2wd jimmy and my 71 4x4 to show the diff,, mainly above the rear end the 2wd gets wider .. this is why on the one I did I just left the leaves in hope this helps
