Call for pics of 33" tires on stock-height K trucks

Thinking about putting some 33" BFG's on my non-lifted 72 K10. I know they'll fit on trucks with 15x8 wheels and without shot springs, and I'm planning on using 10.50", not 12.50", for better clearance. Hoping to get significantly lower revs at speed, plus I'm not sure how old the tires on there are.

I've had 33x10.50's on a lifted truck and liked them. But I want to see some stock-height trucks with 33's - searched and found a few photos, but there must be more! Post 'em up!

No stock 4x4's running 33's? I'm surprised.

Re: Call for pics of 33" tires on stock-height K trucks

Go down to suspension or 4x4 and there's a thread with pictures and info on lift size. I was looking at it awhile back. I have a 72 k10 with a 4in lift was wondering if I should go with 33 or 35.the more pictures I see with 35s and a 4in lift the more I'm leaning on that size.

Not the best pic - I like how the 33" tires fill the wheel well. 10.5" BFGs.

Here are some 255 85 16 tires (33" skinnies) on 16 x 7 wheels. They helped the highway revs a bunch over the stock height tires.

33x10.50x15 BFG KO1's on 15x8 aftermarket steel wheels, I had to run 1/2 spacers in the front to keep from rubbing the on the calipers.

Re: Call for pics of 33" tires on stock-height K trucks

Cali, you mean you used spacers to keep the aftermarket wheels from rubbing the brake calipers, correct? Also, your truck looks lifted, is it? I've always liked your truck. Every time I'm out visiting the in-laws in Santa Barbara I hope I'll see it driving around.

Thanks everyone for the additional photos. I ordered some tires the other day from the guys up the street, and will have them installed tomorrow. I'll post a final photo up here for posterity!

Re: Call for pics of 33" tires on stock-height K trucks

Got the tires installed today. They look great, and at full lock on flat ground, have no point where they're even close to contacting. Will have to try it flexed up a little, but I don't anticipate any issues.

Definitely gained me about 5mph "cruising speed" on the highway, and no feeling of lugging around town. GPS'd the speeds, because the speedo is now about 10% off. So far, 33x10.5 with 3.73 and a TH350 seems to be the sweet spot for my uses. Will have to check MPG soon, hoping to gain a little, do I hear 12mpg?

It's a bad photo, but all I had was my phone...

The truck looks great with these tires! I really like the white wheels and hub caps too.

Thanks guys. It's dirty right now... needs a bath.

Will get some nicer photos at a later date, when it's clean and I have a proper camera with me.

Thank you! Yes, I had to trim just a tiny bit off the radius if that caliper itself (were the castings marks are) and with the 1/4 inch spacers, they fit and spin freely, otherwise the front tires are locked on the calipers.

As far as I know from the PO, they are stock height springs. The truck is in storage for the rainy season

Where's all the snow?!

Combo looks great. Are those the newer style ATs?

Re: Call for pics of 33" tires on stock-height K trucks

No snow. We leave that stuff for places over 8000' these days, apparently. Down here it's been 40's, 50's, even into the 60's a couple days. We're having a nice spring here this winter. Climate change ain't popular on this board, but it's happening nonetheless. Weird weather everywhere.

Yep, those are the new version of the AT's. Didn't like them when they first came out, but they've grown on me. Thinking the truck is ready for summer cruising up in the mountains, can't wait!
