Input on front spring change

I've got too much drop on my 72 LWB. Looks cool but with only 3 1/2" clearance to the cross member, speed bumps are a real problem. Currently 2 1/2" drop spindles with 2 drop springs. The front tires are 265/15 on 8" wheels. I need to get some lift. Thinking about going back to my old stock springs. The truck has a big block so the additional weight is a factor. I really don't want to have to do this more than once so looking for some input from those of you who have been there/done that. How much lift so I need in order to not worry about scraping the cross member in normal driving? Based on that, what would you recommend that I do.
