Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

Are you looking for the adapter plates to use your original style motor mounts on the 6.0? If so I have a set that I made.

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

Were you using the original style motor mounts on the 454? The adapter plates that I have are used to adapt most any early style motor mount to the LS series engines. I thought I had a for sale thread for them on here but I can't seem to find it. I'll see if I can find some pics of them.

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

No I have not done a LSx swap yet. There is an entire section here devoted to the LSx swaps. It is a subforum to the 'Engine and Drivetrain' section.

Here are the adapter plates I was talking about.

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

Physically it should drop right in. Although you may need to trim the top flange of the frame a little to clear the exhaust manifolds or headers. Which trans are you going to use? There is quite a bit to swapping in a LSx series engine, and making it all function. You will probably get more difinitive answers over n the LSx swap section. Those guys have been there done that. Here you go

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

That will simplify things a little. You do know you need a different flexplate and a flexplate spacer, right?

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

that looks like an engine c/member out of a 67-72 that has been chopped up
this is what that c/member should look like in there

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

do you have any crossmember other than the one under the rad support and the t/c
the one that ran under the bellhousing is gone for the a/t. that crossmember also supported at the rear hangers of the frt spring. it really wouldn't hurt having some support in there. it will also help frame flex from the steering box is you have larger tires on there. good place for cracks in the frame around the str box,
the 63-66 did have stubs for perches coming off the frame similar in function to what you have there , but that crossmember was under the b/housing

capt Fab may be able to help you with the mounting. your just going to have to search for a complete c/member. you see what mine looks like. if you have problems finding one you could fab the drop section. a fellow that I know who is making a 4 x 4 used a 4 x 4 c/member out of an 80. the m/mounts are a little higher I believe according to the capt. my friend measured mine against his and he said that his were 1/2" higher in his frame

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

If you must have a crossmember specifically for the LSx series, then this is the only one I know of.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=487797

What Ron and I are trying to tell you, is you can simply mount your 6.0 with an original crossmember of your choice, and just the adapter plates, fo a lot less $$$

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

Im just wondering if it would be the best to get that crossmember for lsx engines because id need to buy a original crossmember and buy the conversion mounts also. Would a crossmember from a 67-72 fit my 62 or not?

Re: Where to get ls motor mounts

Yes it will fit. As said above, that is what is currently in your truck, it's just been hacked up a bit. The '67-'72 4x4 crossmember is what we put in my son's '63 K10 also. We had to locate and drill the mounting holes, but yours should bolt right in since the holes are already there. That is unless you want to move the engine forward or back.
