Re: need pics and opinions on new silverado buckets

I have those exact seats in my '08 silverado. Great seats! I would suggest you try to find the middle seat/console, its awesome.

Re: need pics and opinions on new silverado buckets

Tiny update: I found a late model center console at a junkyard not too far away. Couldn't make it over there today before close, but I asked them to put my name on it and hold it until Monday/Tuesday! So I should have the flip-up-console/jump seat by the first of the week! Things are moving right along. Been asking around for opinions on upholstery shops locally and I'm supposed to be getting the phone number for a guy who can sew me up some covers shortly. Hopefully gonna get the seats in next time I am home (still at college).

I am in my senior year at NC State for Mechanical Engineering. My truck was my daily driver when I was 16 for a couple of years and now I commute in something a little easier on gas. The truck is of course never finished so I work on it the weekends I'm at home and over the summer.

Let me know what y'all think about a console and if you know where I can find a 2007-2012 console because the junkyards around here are dry.
Big swap meet in Moultrie Ga this weekend (Feb 3,4,5). They have anything you want.

What's a good place to find a set that won't cost me a limb or two and my first born child?

Re: need pics and opinions on new silverado buckets

You might try to look on some other forums *gasp* I know the duramax boys part out trucks sometimes. But these things don't come up often and when they do they go high. I just got lucky. Somewhere like lkq has a flat rate though. Just limited selection.

The gas tank is still in the cab. It honestly doesn't affect too much. I just finished a thirty minutes ride and these things are freakin comfy

I've never sat in original buddy buckets, but I have to imagine that these are more comfy based on the side bolsters. I'm really pleased with how these seats turned out. Totally changed the driving experience with the truck.

Re: need pics and opinions on new silverado buckets

I think if a guy contoured the foam in the original buddy buckets to where it was a little more shaped for your back, you would get the best of both worlds. I am contemplating doing that to my buddy buckets but I need to find somebody that can do that to the foam.

Yeah, those look great! I scored a set out of a 2007 Silverado for $50.00! They have two small cigarette burns on them, but otherwise very nice!
I'm gonna have mine recovered in black tweed with a blue center in tweed to match my door panels. Got the center jump seat for $35.00 too!
Have a good one!
