ebay steering columns vs flaming river and ididit
These columns on ebay, has anybody used one and if so are they just crap or are they decent but compared to the others are the crap. The whole $700 to $1000 for flaming river or ididit is crazy. I need a another column cause I am removing the key from the dash and want it on the column and I want tilt also. Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks

Why don't you get a column from a 73 or newer truck? It would be a lot cheaper.

Use a van tilt. Easily modified, OEM GM quality, and nowhere near the ridiculous price of a flaming river or Ididit.

The steering shaft in the van tilt is longer than the truck tilt. I have a friend who has the steering shafts cut off about 2 3/4" and has the shaft resplined. It then looks and fits just like a truck tilt. A used van tilt in our part of the world is reasonable. Clean it up and put new bearings in it, maybe a new signal switch and you could be good to go for a lot less than one of those you're looking at.
