New '69 Custom Chevy 2013

Has anyone seen or bought one, yet? HW Showroom '13. Pretty cool:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2013-HOT...21156405755%26

Here's another Buy It Now. I'm lazy. I'd rather pay more than drive to the store and hope there's one there after digging through the rack (with them falling all over the place and some kid giving me the evil eye )

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Bid on that one! $3.99 and Buy It Now. I just won one with custom wheels. And,Damn you for sending me info on those two Blazers. I just won those two also. All this just happened in the last few hours. Well, the red Blazer was Friday evening,I think, and the other two were in the last hour. Now I want more!!

Here's the new issue with custom wheels and tires:

That's a Super Treasure Hunt, with the rubber tires; in your pictures Those are gonna be really hard to find in stores.
I'm surprised they released another Custom '69 so quickly. Wasn't it in October that they released the blue and green ones?

Re: New '69 Custom Chevy 2013

Robert, that one I got is a custom job. The guy disassembled and swapped wheels/tires. It's funny, that's the very first one of these I ever saw. I wasn't even sure if the paint job wasn't custom. Then,I poked around and saw the standard issue and that these had just been released. I like it so much better with these wheels and paid enough to buy quite a few standard releases, but I think it really stands out with the wheels. The thing is,I do these wheel swaps myself and probably should have waited, bought one at the store, and done my own. But,by the time you buy one with real riders, which cost more already,it's not much cheaper. This way,I still have my donors for other swaps.
I think that electric co. one came out last summer sometime. Not too long ago, though. I never got one because the wheels bugged me too much. I'm not too crazy about most tampo jobs, either. I actually like this 2013 one for some reason. Looks retro '70s,maybe? I dunno. I was thinking I should get the electric co. one and do a wheel swap. Not sure why that never occurred to me before.

Oh, ok. I like the green on this one, without all the words. I guess I was just hoping for another one with rubber tires. The hunt continues..

Hey thanks. That's real nice of you. I'd surely like one. I don't expect you to send one for nothing. Let me know and I'll send you something for it.

The 2 Johnny Lightning are several years old. They're all cool additions to the collection. These toys sure are addictive, aren't they?

Re: New '69 Custom Chevy 2013

I found the HW Showroom '69 Chevy at Wal-Mart today. Not on the pegs, but they had about 5 cardboard bins with hundreds of hotwheels in each bin. Luckily, I notice the '69 grill at the top of the third bin down before I searched the first two.

base/chassis variation

Here's something I just noticed a couple of days ago.
The base/chassis is a little different on the new 2013 green Custom '69. This isn't just a one-off error. They're mixed about 1/2 and 1/2.
I have found them both at Walmart and Target.

The middle section of the frame rails is missing on one verion and the mufflers are shaped a little differently. The one with the missing frame rails has a squarish(sp) type of muffler, compared to the other having rounded mufflers. There are a couple of more small differences also.
I didn't see any differences on the cards.

Some people could care less about the difference, but I like to collect all the different variations.

Re: New '69 Custom Chevy 2013

Great observation,Robert. Funny how the one has no frame.
Now there's a red version of the Hot Wheels Showroom truck. I guess I'll get one,but nowhere near as good looking in that version. It would make a great base-coat for a pearl overcoat.
I just got a couple of those GL Orange & White '71 Cheyennes in the Brazilian version. Yeah...addicting. Gotta have the Brazilian version, right?? Can't wait for the Zimbobwe version

No,I just checked. The radio does play the Bossa Nova, though . I guess there's some Spanish on it is the only difference. Maybe it's distributed from Brazil, but sold in other Spanish speaking countries, too.
