So far I'm seeing my options are AGR, CPP, and one from POL. Does anybody have any input on any of these?

AGR is the most expensive by a mile but I'm sure a quality piece. The CPP seems popular but I don't really like the looks of their billet engraved cap. The POL looks just right and priced similarly to the CPP but I haven't found any reviews or anybody actually using one.

Am I missing any other good/better options?

The billet on the CPP unit is actually not the cap, its an optional cover over the cap. You dont need to install it if you dont want. It comes loose in the box.

You're missing RedHead Steering Gears https://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/ They have a great reputation and are known for being one of the best. They'll even rebuild your old one if you want and make it quick ratio as well.

I got mine from ECE a couple years ago. They're quality built units. I'd recommend that or go with CPP, since haven't heard of any issues with either.

I just had Redhead rebuilt my variable ratio box (which they said was pretty rare) in my 2+2. Though I haven't actually -driven- the car yet, I was impressed by their level of knowledge at least!

this is easy jerry at the old truck shop taught me this ,take yours out go to auto zone or similar place tell them its out of 75 truck looks exacly the same as the 72 done this 5 times what a difference ken

Ive had some cars with F41 suspension packages. Usually that includes a quick ratio steering box, stiffer springs, and thicker anti-sway bars. Anything I own will get it at some point. Had an '84 Monte Carlo SS, great car especially when compared to the base model. Huge difference between the two. Though slow and no corner carver, an SS felt like a performance car while the base model steered like a tractor. To me it makes a huge difference in the vehicle. For my '71 c10 I'm looking at the CPP kit.

Too bad steering boxes are so expensive. I would be doing this if they were not $180.00 up to $330.00!

I would imagine if the P/N's are the same then if you get a rebuilt for a 67-72 truck it would be a quick ratio box.

Not really wore out but my 69's box was leaking so rather than rebuild opted to replace. While looking up prices I found several threads on replacing it with one from a 75 truck improving the steering.

I have had a CPP box , it was good [very expensive ] , and a stock 78 box . I like the feel and drivability of the stock 78 box better [ its 1/4 the price .

73-up boxes are variable ratio. 67-72 boxes are fixed ratio, which happens to be a wide ratio at that. I swapped out my 72 box for a box from a 76, and it made a huge difference!!

Avoid the AGR boxes at all cost. The ratios they offer are great, the build quality (internal) is abysmal and their customer service is severely lacking.

Got a really good deal on a new one from a friend. Installation was a awkward but easy swap.

I bought a redhead to replace my worn out one and they are fantastic.
