Light bulb/lamp chart for ‘70 C10?

Anyone have a chart for the bulbs/lamps? Got a light or two out in instrument cluster and wanna replace them with the correct number bulb.

Are all the bulbs in 67-72 trucks the same or did the later models use different bulbs/lamps than the earlier models?

There is a good bulb chart in the service manual. You can get PDF service manuals here online but really a paper one is much better and they are about $20 to $30 to order one, I recommend get one because they are super.
The bulb for the instrument cluster is 194.

Thanks for the info on the service manual.

Isn’t the 194 bulb a push in type? My bulbs have the brass base that push down and twist in.

Yes, push in type 194 is for the stock instrument cluster. Perhaps you have an aftermarket or modified instrument cluster.

As far as I know it’s all original.

I know the bulbs for brake and alternator lights are the brass push and twist type. I’ll have to pull one of the sockets and look at the ones that are just for night illumination. I know I have one of those lights burned out.

Let's see pictures of what you have, especially the push and twist bulb holder. On mine, I push and twist the bulb holder to remove, then pull the 194 bulb out of the bulb holder and push a new bulb into the bulb holder, then push and twist the bulb holder back into the socket.

Give me just a few mins and I’ll snap pics and post. My base looks like the one you posted. Just different bulb.

Couple more. That pic is the oil pressure light. Pulled a few others while I was there and all are the same as the pics I’m posting.

Re: Light bulb/lamp chart for ‘70 C10?

I just remembered I had the owners manual for truck. It also shows 194 for oil pressure light. Under instrument cluster it shows 194 or 1895. The bulb I have is an 1895 so that’s gonna answer my original question. 1895’s in all of my instrument panel. Just wanted to make sure I was using the correct bulb and not one that was gonna burn hotter than what was intended to be there. Thanks for the reply’s dmj.

Here’s a list of lamp data for the ‘70 models if anyone is interested.

That is interesting. The bulb holder looks very similar to the 194 bulb holder, except the metal tabs where the 194 bulb holder contacts the printed circuit are 180 degrees apart, and your 1895 bulb holder tabs are in a different orientation. I wonder if it is a difference between warning light clusters and gauge clusters.

As best I can tell all the bulb sockets are the same in every location on the instrument panel. Makes me wonder if maybe the stock was running low with the 194 sockets and they just used what was on hand, being the 1895 sockets. Or maybe something got changed out at the dealer on some type warranty work? I have no idea but to the best of my knowledge the truck is pretty much all original other than engine, trans and wheels.

Re: Light bulb/lamp chart for ‘70 C10?

I just changed every bulb in my 70 C10 about a month ago. I used LED 194 bulbs for all the instrument panel lights. I wasn't aware they ever used anything else.

Honestly, I have nothing to compare it to as none of the lights except the headlights and 2 side markers worked when I got it. I bought a big pack of cheap 194 LED's from Amazon and the light is provides seems sufficient, but I could stand it to be brighter. Again I had nothing to compare it to and the the instrument cluster is dirty and I need to take it out and clean it. I can at least see how fast I'm going. I had to flip a few as LED's are not intended to work in reverse-bias. This is a link to them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWVWZ41

I was really impressed with the cheap LED I got for my dome light. It is BRIGHT! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078MLRNCX

I used the 194 LED's above for the side markers also. Haven't touched the headlight yet.
