Replacing the dimmer switch

I got to work this morning and my low beams don't work. The high beams do so I imagine it is the dimmer switch. My rig is a 1988 Chevy S10 Blazer. I looked on the web from here at work and learned the dimmer switch is on the lower column on the driver's door side. My question is this; if you only had one arm like I do, is this something you could do yourself? I'm not sure about any possible clip connectors that might take two hands, or perhaps other two hand issues. I'll have a closer look when I get home tonight but wanted to get a "preview" of what to expect from you guys.

Re: Replacing the dimmer switch

Here is an update. When I fired it up and turned the lights on last night to go home, the low beams worked until I hit my brakes and then they shut off. I still had high beams. I shut it off to try to repeat the problem but the low beam lights didn't come on again. This morning when I got in to go to work, the same thing happened. Any ideas?

(After looking around I realized I probably should have posted this in the dedicated S10 section. I didn't see it at first - sorry.)
