front end conversion idea? what do you think?

I seen this truck for sale with an interesting front end conversion and was considering it for my 89 shortbed. I like it personally and couldn't get over how much it makes the truck look like the new 09 chevy truck design?

I appreciate the effort and thought put into it, but just doesn't look right on the truck to me.

I could give a better answer if it was finished and painted , but the quality of the job looks good

Repost - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=347575

It was on eBay - http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...7C240%253A1308

I tried to find the thread that had the conversion kit that was on the black truck, but I can't find it.

As I said in the first thread on this truck, I like it!

Re: front end conversion idea? what do you think?

Forgot to add..... I think the thing that makes this conversion look good is that he rounded the center of the grill to match the hood, instead of peaking the hood to match the grill.

Re: front end conversion idea? what do you think?

Found it, Jesse posted it about a year ago. I forgot that the hood had been massaged to match the grill on this one. But I REALLY like this black one!

Re: front end conversion idea? what do you think?

I love it, personally. I have always thought that the 88-98 trucks were sort of a tribute to the 67-72 trucks, seeing as how the body lines on them match up so well with minimal effort. I have seen several trucks where they have put the 88-98 step beds on the 67-72's and they almost look like they were meant to fit..

Re: front end conversion idea? what do you think?

Geoff (gcburdinnc) and I saw that truck (the dually) at the spring Autofair.

I wish I could have bought the black one last year. I absolutely loved it. The black truck looks as nice in person as it does in the pics and while the nose job is nice on the dually, the truck itself needs a good bit of work.

I like it, it kinda looks like it belongs that way. Sweeter than the new front ends, IMO
