1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

If you have negative comments please keep them to yourself

So after moving and with the house being sold I made some good money. 6 years ago I sold my 64 Lincoln to buy my house and vowed I would have another. I also sold the crew cab project being I was only building it because I couldn’t find what I really wanted for a decent price.

Well here ls the game plan, same as my last one itll be a true daily driver. Still not sure on the engine if I’ll use the aluminum block 5.3 or my iron block 6.0. Air ride but it won’t lay flat on the ground but about an 1” off with the 22s. Will be running 14” rotors up front and going to hydroboost, should be a great driver and no one else in town will have one.
Car is another week or two from getting here but it’s bought and currently the seller is rounding up parts for me to ship with it.

Pictures as we all like.
Original blue car with white/blue interior but getting the complete burgundy from one of his parts cars. Even though it’s in primer the car is solid as I’ve seen many of pictures underneath and the seller is a very respected longtime Lincoln man.

And an under body shot. These are two of my favorite cars, the white one has 20s same style as mine and the black 20s also. The blue car has 22s which is my factory color I believe. And lastly a YouTube of my all time favorite Lincoln

That video! Here I was thinking, "Dang it kid, don't make a mess of that interior!"

If that's really his girlfriend, he's doing well. Got the car, the kid, and the girl

Funny thing is the car is in PA right now. And the interior will be all stock or stock appearing, will have a double din radio but in a console made for the front hump as to not modify the car itself

The 61 to me I can’t decide on. Love seeing them but don’t like them for myself. I think it’s because it looks so much shall I say classier, I prefer mean. Probably the same reason I love seein a vert but prefer to own a sedan. Either way That was a nice car

I get your points for sure, we all have our personal tastes. Me, I like first year convertibles best. But I like the ones you posted as well ... And who doesn't want to be classy? Haha!

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

I've always liked them. I had a friend that had a 64. It was a cool car and he bought it off the original owner for a whopping $400. (This was in the 70's) He didn't keep it long because someone offered him something like $1500 and he wasn't a car guy. Then he went and bought some lame car. I don't even remember what that one was. But I sure remember that Lincoln.

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

Just realized I never posted my old car. So it was a 64 that was being parted out when I bought it. I got all the missing parts back on it and drove it everyday. But as stated sold it before anymore progress was made to buy my house. So the publix picture was a random moment coming out and seeing someone’s C-10 beside me, had to get a picture. The rest are self explanatory, oh and the k10 is actually my back to 2wd cummins truck.

Those suicide door convertibles are some of the classiest cars ever. Timeless. I always wanted a 1966-1967 convertible but it hasn't happened yet and probably never will.

Nice car!

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

Nice looking Lincoln, but I'm kinda partial to Caddys

Just finished an LS swap (L99/6spd auto) as my built Caddy 472 just wouldn't fit!!

I'll be watching your build.

I’ve always liked those Lincolns. I’ll never own one but they are about the coolest four door out there.

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

So without realizing it I took almost the same arrival picture as the departure. Got here just before dark so didn’t get it in the shop. But as I was sitting in the house I couldn’t take it and had to put the wheels on. Get it racked tomorrow, running, stopping and then time for suspension this weekend coming.

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

Well this weekend I’m going to get the car on the lift and start the suspension. But being bored and digging around check this out. Still had the cardboard on it, something tells me this car is even more unmolested than I originally thought.

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

Looks like a great car to start with. I think all my car parts I end up trying to test fit as soon as I get them. Just got my gas tank yesterday and had to test it out in my car even though I have the entire rear end chopped out at the moment. Not even close to needing gas in a tank, but had to see it

Progress is a good motivator

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

So got the car in the shop, the bottom is very nice and better than I was expecting. Scrapping the undercoating off to find perfection. Oh and got the rear suspension out, will get the new stuff in tomorrow or later tonight if I get bored. Included is a shot of the Dana 53 that will never see life again.

Re: 1965 Lincoln, need I say more?

So the four link is done but the bags aren’t in as they didn’t get shipped with the car. Simple mistake as there were a lot of items that came with the car, will get the bags tossed in this week and may get the front suspension done tomorrow.
