Please help me!!
I have to drive my truck everynight..
Recently I left my lights on all day at work.. And when I came back, my truck was dead.. I got it started and now, my lights don't work! I can play with it and they will come on for a second then go back off, I replaced the switch, and still got the same thing! Also my horn and interior dome light / gauge lights dont work.. When my lights don't coke on, but in the short time my lights do come on, all of it works! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Please help me!!
Sounds to me like you burned the fusible link for the lamps when you left the lights on. Or the lamp switch may have a relay in it if the lamps come on but won't stay lit.

Re: Please help me!!
The main fusible link runs to the starter. You may also have overheated and hurt the headlight switch harness. Not burned out as it will still work sometimes, but it's probably pretty damaged. I'd follow it back from the switch into the harness that goes to the fuse box. That happened to me on a newer truck that had a lot of extra lights going through the headlight circuit. The backside of the switch would overheat and start to melt. Replaced switch a couple times, but the harness/plug that went to the switch was a little melted.

Re: Please help me!!
first thing is will it crank or turn the key and nothing.. if the latter is the answer then check your grounds, have your battery tested and if it is bad also have your alternator tested and again check the wiring harness the connectuion by the headluight switch and thewires to the fuse box etc..

Re: Please help me!!
Do not overlook the Ground wires if the system was that hot you may have had a bad ground to begin with. Also did you change out the battery ? If you have shorted wires you will blow fuses in the fuse panel. Bad grounds can cause funny things to happen to electrical systems.
