Re: My 1957 farm truck survivor

Ha!

I've actually thought I should have rebuilt my truck's old 283 and installed the Fatman Fabrication's IFS I bought (never used and still have), then just kept re-rattle canning it when needed would have saved a helluva lot of money and time!

Great improvements. Careful you might end up making this too nice and decide its best to keep it...

How did you adjust the front altitude? Height looks great! Also, what size tires are you running both front and rear?

Re: My 1957 farm truck survivor

I just sent back through this thread and re-visited the photos. It reminds me SO much of all the things I did to my '55 when I first got it in 2011. In hindsight I leaden a lot but also wasted all the money I spent on it doing everything you've done - fluids filter, belts hoses, tires, rattle can painting, all of it. I did it all only to blow it all apart and redo it from the frame up in 2015.

I'd have no problem at all starting over if I could find one as solid as this one was when you found it. Not too many of them left out there in the condition this one was.

Thanks for the kind words!!

How cool is this the new owner called me yesterday to say he drove the truck to him house 125ish miles! He said the truck performed flawlessly !! He also send me this scenic pic of the truck in wickenburg near his house.

In the end it’s another old truck back on the road with another chance at surviving !!
