Those are painted on, there are no inserts. I bought my Bezel from LMC, and the rings are already painted on. I had also bought the brushed overlay, but I liked it just the way it is.
You can use a chrome pen, I bought a set off Amazon. The tip sizes are different on all 3 pens. I’ve used them on several things.

Re: Restoring Aluminum Bezel?

TKCR that bezel looks sharp with the insert painted like that. l saw that on the LMC site very nice.

Nick thanks for sharing the before and after's everything turned out very nice for just a pen.

I bought one from Michael's and when I picked up (curbside) I noticed it was water based. I have tested on the backside and it kinda wipes off and I don't know how well it will hold up but it has a good amount of "glitter" in it so I'll give it a go and post back results shortly.

tkcr, what pen did you use. I did a search and the one that came up the most was Molotow. It looked good .

I didn’t paint mine on, I bought my Bezel new.
But the pens I bought to do other things with, were Molotow.
