I just got my first set of factory 1968 buddy buckets and was hoping to get a few tips on where the best place to buy covers and any helpful hints you guys may have learned along the way. Thanks BBO

LMC Truck parts have them, but they're a little pricey. The foam is even more expensive- hope yours is good.

Search for some threads on them, I think I saw one tilted "show me your buddy buckets" Those guys should be able to respond to your questions.

Seat covers or foam? Any upholstery shop should be able to make you new covers in any color or style that you want. Or you can buy them in standard colors for about $300. If your seat foams can't be rebuilt, it will cost you about $450 total for for both sides. There used to by a FAQ that showed how to take them apart and put them together, but all the pictures are gone now. I have some pictures in my suburban build (below), but they are not that detailed. My suggestion would be to find a good upholstery shop, they should be able to do everything you need.

Sorry I don't have a better picture of the seat. I'm storing all of these parts for MSGross and they are in the way. I hope he comes and picks them up soon!

Hey just saw the thread, I have done plenty of buddy buckets and dont mind sharing some tips and techniques with you. Feel free to pm me or post questions here. I know Pui just raised their prices again, thats who lmc gets their upholstery from and the foam keeps going up too (something about gas prices, i dont know). Anyway i will help in any way i can.

Gas prices have come down almost 50% in the last 6 months, you'd think some of the prices would. Thanks for offering up the help/advice.

I live in Kansas City and i just had a set done two weeks ago. I had North Kansas City Auto Trim do mine. There a mom and pop shop but and they do great work. I had mine redone with new black vinal with hounds tooth inserts. They also rebuilt the foam on the driver and passenger seats. They did all that for $360. They look awesome!! I'll try to get some pics up.

only problem with PUI's are that they only mimic the 67 pinstriped pattern, not the panel insert like those you have Rob... I'm going to take mine somewhere local I guess, let me know if you find a good place in the area Rob..

I wish that hood would have worked out...
