Shooting for mostly an original restore on a 71, with a tendency to skip shortcuts. The truck had a rubber mat, but it doesn't have to be that way. I don't know, rubber might be better for a driver as opposed garage queen.

Any good quality mats resembling the original, or better? Carpet, other?

I used the thick and heavy vinyl floor in my 72 ,it cleans up easy and looks great ,a little hard to get to lay down to start with but I like it .It has been in my truck for several years and still looks new .

I cant remember who I ordered it from but probably Southern Kentucky Classic(SOKY) or Nsane Hotrods in Tennessee ,both great to deal with and Nsane offers 10% discounts for members here .

strangely, a po retrofitted a rubber mat in my 72 Cheyenne super. Had one in my stock 66 also. Personally, I'd go with the color-matching carpet even on a Custom Deluxe if I were re-doing it. Rubber is practical, but I like the look of carpet in the cab. Just me though, everyone is different. Sounds like you're struggling with absolutely stock vs. carpet, is that the case? Any other things on your truck that aren't stock? What color is your interior trim (seat and door panels, etc) and what will be the final color of your truck?

Since you said ... "mostly original" - I would go with a carpet.

Yep, that's the case. The interior is black. As for original, that's the plan. The floor doesn't have to be that way. It's not as if a mat is on the build sheet. Not that I see anyway. A carpet upgrade might be.

With assys, the guide accts for 1000s of OEM identifications and part numbers, all written in short order. 700+ images include assm, illust., charts, and points of interest.
