Friend bought gas filler donut from LMC. Said it cracked in less than 3 months. Also having same trouble with window seals. This was a 70 model.

Does anyone know where to buy good ones?

When the seal on my gas cap was no longer effective, the cap would wobble around on the filler neck, and leak when the tank was full.

I made a gasket out of bicycle tube rubber, and used that to "tighten up" the fit. I know, sounds cheesy. But it works like a champ...still, and you can't see anything different from the outside. I'd definitely do it again the same way.

EDIT: I just realized your talking about the filler neck to cab gasket...sorry.

I bought mine from GMCPAULS, and it's holding up well...going on 7 months now.

I got one from Classic Heartbeat on ebay...its about 6 months old and still looks great. Lifetime guarantee??????....Yes, its more $$ but if it lasts then its worth the extra 10 bucks...not easy to replace without pulling the seat and tank so I was hopeful while I had it apart. Maybe someone else has some experience with this one??

BTW, it seals great, but tight to install even with the tank removed.

Wes at Classic Heartbeat developed these as a better alternative to the known to be junk that was already being offered. He puts out parts to be god enough for his own trucks. He is one of us.

This is probably not helpful, but on my 1970, I couldn't find a seal I was happy with. So I turned mine upside down and then cleaned it up with "tire shine" goo.

Turns out all the sun and age damage was on the topside, and the bottom side was like new.

That won't help you if it's torn or missing, but if it's just about cosmetics, worked for me!

I'm on my third seal from Heatbeat. It's been on the truck about a year and doing fine. With regard to the wobbly cap, I purchased a cheap second gas cap, removed the rubber seal and added it to my good cap. In other words I'm using to gaskets/seals in one cap. The added thickness did the trick.
