Quickest way to clean all the dust and trash in preparation for primer.

Epoxy primer here we come.

That rotisserie really does look handy! Do you have a stud welder?

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super

Finally!

Epoxy primer is very sticky! Using my old primer gun was OK but the thick and chunky epoxy did not want to lay down well. Just primer though and I'll be working every inch with 60 years worth of dents.

I forgot - you win the award for name that song! Free ride in the Buick, but you'll have to come here to get it unless you are on the Hot Rod Power Tour route one year.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super

I was going to suggest getting a stud welder if you didn't have one already but man that thing looks pretty darn straight now that's it's in primer. (The pictures could be deceiving though)

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super

Saturday Night Picture Time cuz, well.... it's Saturday.

Killed it with the Al's Bedliner. The first kit I used was just enough to cover it with one coat, but I wanted it thicker and to have better texture. So the second coat I cranked up the air pressure to 75 psi and barely pulled the trigger to allow any material to flow out. That made it very fine spittage out of the gun. Coupled that with adding a pint of play sand in the mixture for even more texture. Exactly the look I was going for and makes the bottom look brand new. The last undercoating picture is of the metal reinforcing bracket I made and welded in to attach the outboard seatbelt to. Remember that one?

Then I started blocking out the 1st coat of primer to find my dents. Starting on Bondo tomorrow.

From Lowes. It was listed as an option on the Al's website for a slip resistant finish.
