Thanks, I've been checking out your truck, I like the detail that you put in to everything. The color of your truck with the wheels is a sweet combo...

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

just curious 402 + ? = 427 ? Mine is a 396 + .0060 and I think it's a 408 ? How did you get 427ci ? Stroker ? Not doubting, just wanting to learn.

The 402 is a 4.125 bore. I've heard of people boring those to 4.25 for 427.

I looked at the receipt from the machine shop, pretty much what jlsanborn just posted.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Not much done to the old truck this weekend. It snowed 14" yesterday, possibly 3"-6" tonight. I got to play on the John Deere this morning pushing snow out of the driveway, it's about 600 feet long. My neighbor is an older fellow so I plowed his driveway also.

Wow you have a big driveway, I couldn't even imagine trying to shovel that. I would have put a plow on the lawnmower too.

It's not a big tractor, but hey, it sure beats a shovel

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Sweet tractor! I've been pouring big $$$ into gravel for my road. Plowing snow can be frustrating in that regard so I took a 1-1/2" pipe, the length of my back blade and cut a slot down the side. Pounded that over the cutting edge and stitch welded it. WAY better on the gravel, still moves basically all the snow but my driveway looks like a Zamboni did it!

That's a good idea. I hate when the snow melts off and I find a bunch of gravel in the grass.

Looking good Jason. Your so close to being finished. I'm real glad you decided to keep it and finish it so we could watch your amazing truck build.

Thanks Scott, it's at the point now where every weekend I can really see the progress. It seemed like there for a while I worked and worked and didn't seem like I was getting anywhere. I guess that's part of it! This morning by buddy painted the bed floor, wheel houses, and front panel. The tailgate had a couple little dings on it so we filled them and shot a couple coats of primer on it. We went back to his shop where the truck is and finished the electric fans, started it up so we could make sure the fans kicked on. I get excited every time it fires up Considering the crappy weather we had a good weekend.

That's good news to hear you have it running. What electric fans are you running?

I ordered a pair from Speedway Motors, I think they are 14". They are 1500 CFM each.
