New Shocks Necessary With 1.875"/2.0" Lowering Springs?

Ordered a pair of Hotchkis 1.875" front springs, and will be buying a pair of 2" or possibly 3" rear springs (any suggestions for performance rear springs?). Do I need new shocks with either?

Thank you.

New shocks are a definite yes. You should also install shock re-locaters in the rear. When you lower the rear, it changes the angle of the shock and takes away its ability to do it's job.

Thanks for the response Jesse. And that's true, even if I'm just dropping it 2"?

Is it something that I need to do all at once, or could I get away with the existing shocks for a few thousand miles on the 2" springs?

Not being familiar with the Hotchkiss springs are these a two inch drop? If so then new shocks are not required, but there are affordable good choices that will be a large improvement over the stock ones. For the rear using drop blocks instead of springs will work very well plus the shock geometry will not be changed so no need to change mounts. If you do the drop and drive it a hundred miles or so then do the shocks you will see what each contributes to the package.
Just my two cents worth. You results may vary.
