Smile Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Excellent....a road trip, something pretty much every guy dreams about and lives for!!
Now..on the practical side..that support/hanger bearing is not too big a deal to do once you have the correct parts but is best done at a driveline shop with some specific tools, but it shouldn't be too expensive.
Remember the first 3-6 months of owning these trucks is often when you spend a few bucks getting them to where you are comfortable and confident with them. So simply resign yourself to spending...say $500 bucks taking care of a few details here and there...no big deal.
Now, if its in the shop for the hanger bearing, you can always get the guys to give the truck a quick 'once over' to let you know if anything else looks a little suspect.
From there you can always prepare yourself for some possible repairs that may (or may not) happen.
Like Special-K said...there isn't a lot on these trucks that can go wrong...or go too far wrong that you probably couldn't fix yourself. If you are prepared a lot of the repairs can be done pretty easily...or at least cheaply.
Regardless.....keep the pics of the journey coming!!
If you have an idea of your route options and post them up some of the guys will probably weigh in on offering local support as you pass thru...if needed.
All Good
