So any idea on what or how to fix the door jam? I could just cut out that bad area, bend and weld in new section.
i was looking into this and found where some are just using Jeep Door Check stop brackets, anyone else on this?

So I tried what you suggested Scoti, and it shows it just fine in Paint, Paint 3D and other selection, but as soon as i link it here, it rotates it. So, i just did as previously suggested and cropped it and tada now it works. lol

So this is interesting... I did as Scoti said, saved a copy of the pic, then i had to rotate it and resave it, tada... Not sure what the heck, but anyways....

Ok, anyways, back to the real issue, how to fix this area of the door pillar. I cannot find anywhere that sells this replacement panel or at least i cannot find or located one. So does anyone know about this? I have seen that others are using Jeep Check stop backets inplace of this. Bolts or welds on. That is great, but do i just cut out this nasty spots and weld in new metal or ??

I haven't looked to see what's out there are far as patch panels so I can't comment

If there are no patch panels for that area, choices are sections from a donor cab or flat sheet-metal & bend the 90° areas as dimensionally needed.

I have not seen any patch panels for that area yet. Easiest option would probably be getting a donor cab section, but you could also make one yourself. The Cherokee door check link swap uses the factory piece you are pointing at

I am a neanderthal compared to what you have achieved so far, therefore if I can cut in a donor panel to my door striker panel you can do the same with the hinge side!

I am amazed each day on this site how willing people are to help each other. In the times we are in today, the crazy way some treat others and then i am on here and see how much help others are willing to do for another, it is just awesome. I know that i will help anyone i can in any way i can. Shortly here, i will have a bunch of "extra" items that i will am replacing with new and will have the original parts up to get rid of, maybe help another out here. So, to all those who do help out others, not just me, but others, God Bless You for being a positive person!

I totally agree! So many amazing people on this board that help others and I am sure we don't even know half of the good that goes on...Like I told someone recently, the Chevy Truck restoration world is not big...6 degrees of separation in the hobby at any given point. I have had so many things done for me after I joined this board, I would never be able to pay it back monetarily, but I will pay it forward in help or parts or whatever I can.

That's the easiest/best way to 're-pay'. Watching others builds or just browsing forums & helping others w/'been there-done that' guidance. Even if someone doesn't heed the advice, they made a better (informed) decision w/others experiences. That's one of the main reasons I try to detail the 'whys' behind any comments, questions, or recommendations.

UPDATE:
I got the cab back from blasting. Not to bad looking. A few rust fixes required, but nothing real bad. The front window area on the passenger side is only really bad spot, and i have the repair panels for that already. Never done one of them, but with some thought and slow working i can get it. Please feel free to comment any suggestions.

i do have a question. The old gas tank mount bracket, must it stay in place? I would like to remove it if possible.

I just cut the bracket off where it starts to bend up on both my trucks . Was quick and easy and I kept the pieces if somebody wanted to use a stock tank again . Amp and sub boxes fit back there nicely
