Steering cover panel bolt size and seal?

I cant find the bolts but the picture I took as I removed it show all 5 of them on the floor. I was going to get stainless this time and was looking for the size of the bolt. Anyone know it? Also the seal, is it the same as an inner fender seal?

They gotta be 1/4"-20, check and see.
If they are - https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-pc-1-4-2...IAAOSwB51c1uua

I think the seal is the same as the inner fender seal. If i remember correctly the inner fender seal is one long piece and you cut that portion out to use on that piece.

Thanks again Rocknrod, it has to be cause thats the closest size I can see that will work. Ive got 2 or 3 coats of paint on the panels that I think I may have to re tap the threads on due to the build up, the 1/4" -20 threads in a few turns and gets pretty tight. Im sure all of the panels like this will have the same bolt threading issue due to paint build up.

I might be wrong but I think there are 2 bolt sizes needed for that panel.

Ya, you may be right come to think about it.
msg - You dont have a nut/bolt/screw gauge?
They sell em at home depot, Harbor freight etc. Without one you may be doomed in the future. As an example:

Re: Steering cover panel bolt size and seal?

I will make the investment. I found a bolt in the baggie of glove box parts that threads through the top 2 of the inner fender but not the lower 3 of the assembly plate. The bolt I used was the one that the glove box pivots on.

On page 109 of the yellow assembly manual it shows part #3759038 for the screws.
In the GM parts wiki for our truck it shows 3759038 is a 1/4"-20 X 5/8" http://www.gmpartswiki.com/getpage?pageid=26591

Thanks Rocknrod, I didnt know about that parts wiki. Now I can add that to the reference links I have! By the way I did get a gauge, on the cheap and in a hurry though. I used it to get the hardware list I put together and you are right it makes things easier.

I obviously do the same thing. These parts as hard as I try to keep together they sometimes get away. By the way I hope to soon be ordering one of your AC vent boxes soon. Theres so much going on. I may begin first with the ammeter to voltmeter conversion like you and others have done.

Re: Steering cover panel bolt size and seal?

MSG--did you ever replace these bolts? What size did you use?

EDIT:

Nevermind...found them...it is 1/4"x20...didn't look like that to me though...but they are perfect!

Glad you can vouch for the fit, I still haven't gotten to the reassembly. So looking forward to it.
