Re: Project...praise the lowered

man you guys are making my view count sky rocket.i never imagined my build would have so much attention.i look forward to checking out the comments every day.thanks.
now on with the show, heres a peak of the intake cover i started to build.all stainless steel and will be fully functional as a ram air system.should get some attention peaking through the hood.i will also make a sheet metal fuel rail cover.something like the covers on the ls1`s

Re: Project...praise the lowered

so if its going to work as a ram air..... your sheetmetal box/intake will house the filter also?

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i should have said it will be like a ram air/frech air system.if you look close in the pics you can see a duct i started to build over top of the throtel body .the plan is to run that into a housing/cover over a cone style filter.but like everything else i do on the build i will probably change my mind 10000 times haha.

thats a long read from start to finish.i hope it inspired some ideas for your build.as for fabrication, its all patients and fine tuning.and the payoff in the end is well worth the blood and sweat.

Sweet idea man! I'm sure you'll get it tweaked to you liking. Always do. I agree that polished ss shotgun style sticking out of the hood against that black is gonna be bad @$$!

i had some time to play around with it after work before the wife picked me up.i grew a set and started cutting the hood a little at a time until the double barrel stuck through.but it still needs some tweaking.the front sits a little too high and i have to shift it to the left a little.but not bad for a 20 min hack job.i should have time tomorrow to adjust it then on with the polishing.it should look good all said and done.heres a couple teaser pics

X2, if you could get the two barrels about level with the front of the hood opening, yes, no, I'm sure you will get it right.....Jim

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i did a little more tweaking and fine tuning today.with so many wires and hoses being housed under the cover it was a pain to get it adjusted right.so i dropped the front down as much as i can and moved it to the side more.i also had to shift the front clip to the passenger side a little to square it up with the hood.so now on with the hours of sand/polishing

Re: Project...praise the lowered

back at it today.this morning i was able to get the bed floor completely welded and buffed smooth ready for primer.now i can start making my front bed panel/compartment.then this afternoon i hand sanded my hillbilly engineered scoop until my arm was ready to fall off then it was on with the polishing.it has some low spots where it was tacked on the underside but when i was done polishing they didnt look nearly as bad.i still have some areas that need attention but i will wait for the final round because im sure its going to get dinged up.here is a couple of pics
