That is a very nice Longhorn!! I like those wheels too. I don't believe you can get them anymore either.

Nice job on that! The color and wheels go together. Probably redone 20 years ago. I hope the wheels are 16s. They had just started making custom 16" wheels in the '80s. Looks like it's a Custom Camper on top of a CST. I wonder if it's a big block

I think it was a CC and it was an older resto. The wood was a little warped and discolored . There were several trucks on the lot a 50s Chevy a square 4x4 and a 76 Ford Elite . I stopped to look at that as I had one in high school. Dad traded in a mark 4 on it my mom hated it so he bought a real nice used Fleetwood brougham

I wanted to call the after hours number but the misses wasnt real happy hanging around in 90° heat in a truck with no ac . My next project is to put ac in the 72. I saved the number for the place

Re: Saw a Nice longhorn today

Yep, it has Custom Camper emblems, so it's got the Z81 option. But the cargo lamp says the truck is a CST that had the Z81 option on top of. My '71 was a Cheyenne with Custom Camper/20 emblems. Nowhere on the truck did it say Cheyenne and I had "experts" tell me I was wrong. I knew my GM trucks back then, too. The SPID said it was a CST (as we know some Cheyennes did in '71), it had the vinyl scroll seat, cargo lamp, woodgrain trim, carper (with vendor tag still under it, tailgate band, and was 100% original.

I could tell this Longhorn was done in the late '80s - early '90s by the wheels, the color choice, and the lack of concern for it's greater value if they retained/replaced the trim and repainted in original color/colors. If the seat cover is still from the restoration it most likely was not the OEM style because those didn't come out until '91 and you had to know a little about these trucks to know where to find one (pre-internet craze). Probably black or grey velour or tweed. And again, I doubt the owner who re-did it was concerned with keeping it GM.
