91 Burb Grille

I just installed the 91 burb grille on my 84 truck.. Now I am trying change the headlights to the 92 and up lights.. I cant seem to find anything online on how to do this.. Anyone got any pictures or instructions/links on how to change out the headlights to the single version?

Re: 91 Burb Grille

Reason you can't find anything is because they don't fit
'88-'98 GMT 400 is completely different than the '89-91 R/V truck
I have seen/done the '87-'91 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport headlights used in'89-'91 R/V with mucho mods to make them work.
Honestly, not worth the trouble. The optics on the '90-'98 GMT trucks is pretty poor.
Go with good sealed beams and relays and you'll be way better off.

Re: 91 Burb Grille

Sure...anything will fit if you are willing to make it fit.
For full killer custom like yours, makes sense.
I was speaking from a bolt it on 89-91 from 90-99 stand point and they don't.
How much cutting was done to the support? Custom adjusters?
How did you over come the angle of the lamp themselves due to the C/K curved support vs R/V the straight support?
The angle of the lamp was the reason the Euro Sport headlamps were popular as they had a nice flat support and beams weren't angled. Still had crummy optics though.
Think I even still have a pair or three Eurosport lamps from late the '90s when we did a few of them. I remember cutting the headlight bezels was the biggest pain in the a$$...

Re: 91 Burb Grille

Knew I had a set still...

You might have luck with those non fluted aftermarket ones like justpball is running.
Factory GMT 400 optics will make LH & RH lights cross each other about 25' in front of the truck.

I do kinda dig the all chrome bezels to hide the size difference in the marker to headlight ratio. Slick way to make it blend.

Are the Celebrity lights the same as the "Euro" lights on a late 80's/early 90's Caprice/Impala?

Re: 91 Burb Grille

Hahah very cool that you have a set Irish1941! It was some work to get them to mount... I had to cut the support and mount them from the back. I used long carriage bolt to make the mounts and 3 nuts on each bolt to make them work. The beams do cross in front although I never noticed until one night when it was super foggy and I could see the beams, LOL. It has never bothered me that they cross, it's not like one stops the other from lighting up the road.

Re: 91 Burb Grille

They do kinda bolt in because the whole factory mount is used, but trimmed a little on the outboard side... But not just bolt in like factory, because they mount on the front of the core support and these mount on the rear with long bolts then you slide the mount onto the bolts and sandwhich the mount between 2 bolts when you get them set where you want them.

Nah Impala ones are too big both length and height. Eurosport worked almost perfect but thing I never liked was the size comparison to the signal lights.

justpball, I just happen to have set left over that didn't get tossed.
Amaze myself with junk I have left over from past projects.
