Any suggestions for new shocks.

I am bringing the 75 down to stock height finally. It has been suggested that I use "Rough country" 2.0 shocks. I have seen decent reviews of them and i like the price, but I have one slight concern that they might be (hence the name) more suited to big slow off road bumps than giving the best ride possible on the blacktop with the odd bit of off road (which even then would be mainly beach and gravel tracks as opposed to extreme rock styley off roading). I'm replacing the front leaf springs also.
- Any suggestions for the shocks, or are RC OK?
- Orrrr does anyone have a combo of shocks 'n' front springs which is great? (my current aftermarket 4 inch lift springs are HORRIBLY freaking bouncy if the truth be known).

What I'm seeing on the web is that RC are for just that - Rough country, and are too stiff for road use.

What he said...awesome on and off road. Not cheap but come with lifetime replacement. 5000 miles and have yet to test warranty out.

Re: Any suggestions for new shocks.

I couldn't find the 5100's at stock height, only the 4600's. But have heard great reviews on the 4600's too.

4600 stock height:
Front - 24-009232
Rear - 24-009331
Option Front Quad - 24-010269

$279 for the 4600's at 4 Wheel Parts

However, I did use them for mine and I'll say, it was less than pleasant to get the correct ones in my hands. A LOT of babysitting and getting wrong ones. Then re-ordering, etc.

I think shockwarehouse has been a good source. Check on this though.

Re: Any suggestions for new shocks.

I have heard good things about the Bilstein 5125.

If you are not sure, I would give "Off Road Designs" a call and tell them what you want to do; I think they will be helpful.

Good Shocks = worth the money!

(going through the similar process here)

Re: Any suggestions for new shocks.

I have a set of 4 x 4600's under my desk right now. I thought i had everything for lowering but LMC sent the wrong leaf spring and then UPS lost the replacement so i am still one leaf spring down for the project but it is en route.
