n00b question - Are all front buckets on '73-91 Suburbans interchangeable?

I'm just curious. I've got an '86 with worn out buckets and I'd like to put the 89-91 style bucket seats in it.

It seems to me like they should all be interchangeable from '73 to '91 as I don't think the floors changed much, did they?

I've seen a difference in style/shape/armrests but not mounting,up to 89

I have the same question from the perspective of a 75. what seats can I put into the front without having to monkey around with drilling new holes into the floor. ADDITIONAL - To clarify mine is a 75 BLAZER - are the holes in the floors the same as the burb of the sam year?

Swap the bases,Burb and Jimmys have different floor pans.
I drilled out the 89 Burb seat to fit the 78 Jimmy base.
I'm on my phone, but there are pics in the thread below,
Switch them left to right and change the wear pattern too.
And then you can dial tilt while standing outside too.
But some don't have two arm rests.
Don't know if the hole is there for it.

So you CAN use a 78 Jimmy / Blazer base in an earlier model (73-75) without having to drill holes in floor, but you have to drill new holes in seats to fit the base (which I am more comfortable with). Have I got that right?

For that year I don't know, if it's the same as 78
They had extra support, built in to the floor.
i know a year or two earlier, the rear seat foot area was less pronounced.
Can you show me/ maybe measure?
Or somebody else might know...
But Burb ones I have from those seats are way too short.
My jimmy bases are a good 6 inches +

I guess this makes me complicit in the thread jack, but I did find some Blazer seat swap info here.

Re: n00b question - Are all front buckets on '73-91 Suburbans interchangeable?

I know for sure that these (73-87) *Pickups and Suburban* have the "hump"
on the floor.
This means a front seat is interchangeable for those years. On bucket seat models there was a mount that was welded to the floor to support the seat.

The Blazer/Jimmy had a FLAT floor and therefore had a different seat "mount".
I'm assuming that all Blazers have interchangeable seats so that the old one will work in the newer model and vice versa.
