84 Blazer, Did It come w?

Was Gm putting 700R transmissions in Blazers or trucks for that matter in 1984? Im looking at a 69,000 mile original Blazer and that's whats in it. I didn't think that tranny came around till closer to 1990???
Also is there a quick way to tell the diff in a 305 and a 350 just from looking
If it is a 305 any ideas on value or how much to decrease its value bc of the 305? Any info is appreciated, Chad
sorry my 80's knowledge is lacking

700R4 was an option in '82 I think. I know it was in '83 for sure. The Blazer you are looking at is most likely a 305 truck.

The 700R4 was definitely an option in 84. Check the 8th letter of the VIN. According to LMC, if its F or H it's a 305, if it's L or M it's a 350.

Lots of info on your K-5 here
https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc..._Full-Size.pdf

If I read right, 4 speed manual was standard with 4 speed auto a $650 option on gas models and 4 speed auto standard on diesels.
