Question LS swap fuel lines to tank valve ??

I looked around to see if I could find example to use, but did not. I am wanting to know how to "connect" the LS fuel line to the '87-up tank selector valve? do I push the FI rated hose onto the valve nipples and then clamp? if so then what would be the appropriate clamps to use?

THANKS!

I personally like the ear clamps. They are a one-time-use clamp, but they hold perfectly. You can buy a set of clamps and an applicator pliers together on Amazon for under $30.

Re: LS swap fuel lines to tank valve ??

kipps, thanks for the reply, I am curious how these (listed above) and others in general connection would hold in relation to the F.I. pressure & the valve's "plastic" nipple connection? My thought is the the plastic would crack/break by tightening to handle the 58PSI of the system?

thanks!!

I did this a year back - I used the FI style hose clamps. I don't think you can crack the plastic on the new pollak valves nipples with a clamp....it seems like some heavy construction from what I remember.

Re: LS swap fuel lines to tank valve ??

The ear clamps tighten very evenly around their entire diameter. The biggest concern is that you don't tighten them so much that they tear into the hose. They should indent the hose pretty good without cutting it.

Oetiker clamps (the style kipps posted) or Fuel Injection clamps are what you want to use with the EFI rated rubber hose. As long as the clamps are spec’d to the proper diameter, you should not have any issues with them overclamping the hose. I used Fuel Injection hose clamps on my build, and you can see them on the switching valve about halfway down the page:

Re: LS swap fuel lines to tank valve ??

nick (all) thank you for the replies! I will do the EFI rated clamps then & attach to the pollack switching valve. I knew the clamp needed to be tight to handle the 58PSI, but was concerned that the plastic on the valve would crack from tightening.
nick I checked out the page, nice job!! thank you again for the reply.

all .. it may be "old fashioned" to use the board - considering new social media platforms, but an old guy like me still feels it's use!!

There is still a significant advantage to these forums, even with the amount of newer social media trends. That is, that facebook and many others cannot be searched effectively. If you document your unique solution to an obscure engine swap problem and put it here, it will be searchable by anyone in the future. If you put it on facebook, 'good luck' to anyone who needs that info.

Re: LS swap fuel lines to tank valve ??

I am currently trying to route the fuel lines to the correct connections I bought a pack of the voliant F.I. "T" clamps as suggested. I like the way they work. now I am trying to figure out what fuel lines go where.... I am trying for the first time the "push-loc" F.I. hose which you just "push-on" to the fitting & no need for clamps. I am not sure how it will work, we'll see....
