Re: K20 suburbans

I will never sell my K20 Burb. Still have not found one like it.
Payed $600 2 years ago with a rod hanging out of the 6.2 diesel. Still ran LOL

Re: K20 suburbans

Here's my K20. Hit twice within 7 months by stupid and drunk/high teenagers

Result of 1st accident (mostly cosmetic at this point)

2nd while parked in front of my house, had just gone to bed when they drove thru my yard.

I thought to paint my Jimmy red might help it survive but:
If painted bright red and and reflective stripes and emergency flashing lights dosn't say STOP what does?

Re: K20 suburbans

You can do what I did....find a 1/2 ton and make it into a 3/4 ton. The frames were the same no matter what some people say. And all you need to do is beef up springs, axles, and shocks. I got mine from a older, wrecked ambulance that was also a 4wd all for 350 bucks. I was lucky though. Came with 1 ton springs.

Re: K20 suburbans

well guys, my K20 has been sitting for almost a year, we've kinda been in denial about the whole situation, I bought a door for it at one of the local JYs, bolted it on, and the whole body is out of wack

it's at least 1" out of shape, in just the driver's side door jamb. and the back door on the driver's side is out of shape too...

I've come up with a fun solution to the problem...

Cut cut cut!!!

Add a rollbar!

What do you guys think?

well, this beast isn't going to be lowered anytime soon, in fact it'll be getting at least 3" of lift, so to me, the rollbar is very important!

Blazin off-road built this a While back. I'm not sure they are in business anymore...I bought a tire carrier bumper from them and it was junk.

Re: K20 suburbans

Gentlemen,

I'm looking at getting the 'burban back on the road, on monday, I'm going to get a couple of estimates on pulling the body so the new door will close correctly. next, will be tires and a lift... anyone want to suggest a lift kit? I want to go 4" of lift, and to run 35" tires..

I was looking at this lift

http://www.jcwhitney.com/suspension-...=d50300y1986j1

and these tires

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...yp=Truck%2FSUV

is the rough country lift any good or should I look into something else?

Thanks-

Eric
