Re: BACK in BLACK

Looks great! Black is great when it's done right! I would also be interested in how the gas filler turns out. Have you driven the truck yet? Just curious as to how well the filler is going to take the gas.

Re: BACK in BLACK

Does the gas tank have a vent? Or is it vented internally back up the filler towards the cap? I'm sure with it being a factory GM tank it has some kind of ventilation. I have just talked to people who have had problems filling their tank since their is no way for the air to be displaced while filling it with gas. It's looking good! Looking forward to seeing the pics of the filler with the bed and bumper installed!

Re: BACK in BLACK

Those are vented internally. Mine's in a Camaro but I usually don't have a problem filling it up. He shouldn't either.

Ditto. Nice solution. Could that mod be done without pulling the bed?

Re: BACK in BLACK

sorry, been really busy lately and havent had time to take more pics of the filler. it probably could be done without removing the bed but you'd be better off taking it off. Its just easier to weld in the new braces and drill mounting holes for the straps.

Re: BACK in BLACK

The tag on a sport bumper is a bit lower than it is on your step bumper. Do you still think this mod would work if the tank had to be lowered even more for the filler access? I mean I guess it would work but would it put the tank hanging down below the bumper?

Re: BACK in BLACK

well, it just depends on your ride height probably. I went with this tank because a may go with a 2" drop in the back at the most and i didnt want anybody behind me to see the tank hangin down. Right now its at stock height and it hangs down just a hair so you cant see it unless you get down eye level with the bumper. If you dropped it more it would be more visible but if u have a lower ride height you really woulnd be able to see it probably

Re: BACK in BLACK

finally got a few new pics. A few are of the tank with the bed and bumper installed as requested, got a few of the truck with the hood and front bumper on too. Also there are a few interior shots, since these pics i have installed the column and entire dash, just need carpet, door panels, and seats recovered!!! Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

Re: BACK in BLACK

Ive been trying to work all the little kinks out of my truck because i finally have it street legal and have been waiting two years to drive it! Maybe some of yall can help me out. First off, there is the power steering. I have a new (rebuilt) pump that has plenty of fluid in it (not too much or too little) and it wines all the time, even when im not turnin the wheel. Then it blows fluid out of the cap and when i open the cap its full of bubbles. I know the pumps are supposed to be self bleeding and it should have bled out by know, but bubbles indicate air in the system still, right? Now for the carburation issue: brand new holley 750 double pumper, worked great for a while.......then died on me all of a sudden....held pedal to the floor and it started (flooded) but kept flooding. I cleaned out the needles and it worked great for a while and then started flooding again. i have an inline fuel filter as well as the two rock filters in the carb.......where is this trash coming from?!? Appreciate the feedback!
