Been awhile...

Well guys I'm finally back after many years. I've owned this truck for 27 years. Last time I posted was 10+ years ago. My wife of 18 years had recently pasted away and had 2 infant sons that became my number 1 priority. Moved from Rochester NY back to my home state of Arkansas. The truck went in to storage (parents barn)for close to 10 years while I figured life out as a newly single parent. Boys are half grown now. I recently remarried and she convinced me to get the truck out on the road. Spent the last month changing all the fluids, new plugs/wires and lots of cleaning and polishing. The truck runs and drives amazing I've driven it maybe 300 miles the past month. New tags "WHYBYNU" came today so the trucks legal now. No real plans other than keep driving it and maybe Power Tour 2021! Here are few new pics. John

One month ago, out of the barn and 150 mile ride to my place. It was an exciting day to be bringing it home.

Wow, I'm sorry you went through all that. It sounds like your new wife is a keeper. So is that truck.

Love the truck, sorry for your loss, but so glad you've gotten it back on the road. Sounds like your new wife is a keeper! You need another one now for your boys to work on!

Welcome back, even if you left before I joined. You've had some pain, there. I hope things go better for you, now.

Change all the rubber and neoprene stuff, if you haven't already! 10+ year old tires?

Re: Been awhile...

Thank you guys for all the great comments. There definitely were a lot difficult days, I like to think my sons and I got each other through it. I recently did marry an amazing woman like I said earlier she was the one who pushed me to get the truck out of the barn! Someone asked about the tires and yes they are new as well all belts and hoses. Every nut and bolt checked as if I had just bought the truck. John

Re: Been awhile...

Again thank you guys. It seems that it was years to get my feet back under me emotionally. We hand been together since teenager's. My sons were my rock even at ages of 3 and 6 at the time. Been close to 11 years since she past away. Life is good now and really couldn't ask for better. I learned a lot about what's really important during those times in my life hopefully they have and will make me a better father, husband, friend to the people in my life. Thanks again, John

Re: Been awhile...

I remember you and your truck from your handle. Never give up, right? That truck was just fine sitting and waiting for the right time. I'm glad to see you moving on with and a better man for your new wife.

Re: Been awhile...

Welcome back, John! Truck still looks great. I can't begin to imagine what you've been through and how tough it was. It's life's struggles and heartaches that makes us stronger and better. It sounds like your experiences have done just that for you and your boys.

After reading your story, for some reason it reminded me of the old commercial "like a rock". You sound like a strong person. Enjoy that truck.
