Hobby Lobby project

So, while scrounging through the "automotive" section at Hobby Lobby while the wife was in another area, I spotted these cool license plate letter and number plaques. I immediately picked out the appropriate letters and numbers for my truck's name!

I started brainstorming to come up with something cool. My son had a great idea to mount them to a wooden or metal backing and put hooks in the lower mounting holes to put keys on. I liked that idea, but decided to go back later and do that with my last name.

Well, my profession is making picture frames at the business my parents operate. So, I came up with the idea of mounting them in a 3D style mat with a photo of Slick underneath, and frame it. This will make some cool garage wall decor. I figured this was worth sharing in case any of y'all wanted to do something similar.

Awsome, just hurts a bit to see licence plates all cut up as a collector, but I would do it on some of my irreparable one, good idea!

Great idea and execution. I have neighbors who used those for mailbox numbers. Now I know where they got them.

No vintage plates were harmed in the making of this product! These are reproduction number and letter plaques. I wouldn't cut up vintage plates for something like this.

Re: Hobby Lobby project

Hit up my local HL yesterday. Nope! Closed on Sundays. Not sure if it's just my local, or if this is a nationwide thing. Either way, being closed on a weekend day is kinda dumb assuming most working Americans do more hobbies and crafts on the weekends. But hey, I have not stayed in a Holiday Inn Express since the china virus invaded our shores.

Some employers value their employees. and their family time.
NOTHING should be open on Sunday.(and not because of any faith reasons) Heck I would be fine with everything closed by noon on Saturday, or not opening at all .
Most of the people that take issue with places not open on Sundays, don't have to work week ends. Think about that for a few.
I get a kick out of most of them, as they'll be at a store on a holiday, and say "it is a shame you are forced to work holidays, or a Sunday", whatever the case maybe. Sadly the worker can't say , "well you can't feel that bad as you are here". As you know the customer would go all Karen and go find the manager.
The world would be a better place if everyone had week ends off.

Me think about it? I posted the response about not being open and people having to work during the week. Yes, I work M-F and have weekends off. Don't be so jealous.

Those are really neat too.

I have zero creativity, my engineer brain drives me into symmetry and black and white. So I appreciate the artistic on display when I see it!

I hear what you’re saying. Our downtown shops (lots of antique shops and the like) are closed like Sat-Sun or Sun-Mon or something. I agree to having days off, but I would think they would do better being open on weekends and closed on a couple weekdays to give employees a weekend. Just from a business perspective.
