Now THAT is right up my alley

Personally, I'd add some mudflaps and fab up a little different rear bumper situation and then drive it. Daily. Everywhere. Driving a 2 ton pickup truck gets you lots of waves, smiles, a few double takes, and you absolutely do not stop for gas or to get a burger without having a conversation with someone about it. It's a blast

Oh, and you'd better know what kind of fuel mileage you're getting cause AT LEAST three people will ask you every time you drive it. It's like a law or something

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

That truck does look like it could use some kind of better bumper or something but besides
that it looks pretty cool.

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

Maybe a wrap around step bumper would look good.

And definitely mud flaps!

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

72 GMC 427 tandem $850! Not mine. If it was you could tell,as my old lady would have me living in it.

https://eugene.craigslist.org/pts/d/...127788755.html

GMC flatbed truck. Has a 427 industrial gas engine. Ran when it got parked and has been sitting for a couple years. Needs a new set of points, rotor and distributor cap. Should fire up with that a a new battery. Tires are bare, but good enough to get it down the road. Might make a good parts truck also, or be worth more in scrap? We used it to haul hay, but bought a couple newer trucks. 21 foot long deck.

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

Good solid restore-able truck for someone. Can't beat the price as mentioned. Ten Lug Fronts, Wide Front Fenders and may have Air Brakes. Would make a great Rollback.

Heavy specs with air ( note horn and pot on rear axle ), nice. Looks like a real dual drive set up, not a want a be tag. Air is a big plus, don't have the rusty hydraulic headaches.

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

How did I know it was going to be an Automatic before I even read it. Wonder who in the military thinks tough soldiers can't shift gears. Super nice truck otherwise.

A 4-53T Detroit and a 10-Speed Road Ranger would sure make it an ultimate.

Currently (03/25/2024) looking for an Action Line truck, specifically 1969-1970, in very good condition. Longbed only, step or fleetside, or flatbed if C30. Must be unmolested (not modded).

It looks to only have 6,650 miles on it too.
Is that window visor a factory option? If so I may have to get me one.
