Re: 1972 cst k5

Here are the PICS that were posted on EBAY last June. The seller had his phone # listed, so I called him and made a deal. It was shipped to me in Miami and I started the tear down.

Not wanting to use the camper mirrors, I opted to go with the sport mirrors, but took the opportunity to mount the sport mirrors in a higher position than factory for better vision.

Re: 1972 cst k5

Working on the engine bay. 102 with heat index in Miami today - fun! No AC in the garage. Movers coming in 3 weeks, heading back to San Diego. Need to finish this up.
Received the replacement front bumper as the first one had chrome peeling. Finished up the stainless brake lines, and detailed the chassis.
Still lots to do. Hope to head to the muffler shop Monday.

Re: 1972 cst k5

Interior going together.
I dyed the door panels, front and rear arm rests, dash pad, door lock knobs, seat backs, and console with dark saddle spray paint dye from the Parts Place. They carry most all OEM colors. The rear panels and seat covers are near a perfect match to the color. I finish the vinyl parts with satin clear for a smooth finish.
The carpet kit came with the Blazer when I bought it. The flipper I bought it from found it in a barn in Nebraska. He was going to "fix it up" with the new carpet kit. After he found the mouse family living in it and the leaky gas tank, he put it on EBAY as is.

Re: 1972 cst k5

When the Blazer went into the paint shop in September, I got all the parts ready to install.

Exhaust, shocks and steering stabilizer installed.
Very happy with the new gas tank from the truck and car shop. Easy install, n modifications required.
Rear seat cover is original. I dyed the back of it with Dark Saddle from the parts sore, happy with the results.

A perfect 10. The floor mats look good too. Nice touch.

Mats are from summit racing.
They are OER replacement mats and come in a bunch of colors.
