Pondering two tone color

I believe the 67's had a different color interior metal than exterior on some models (?) and they looked good.

My 71 C30 is ready to come home (pass through is patched), I'm picking up a few more items first.

Its all white, which I really like. but I also like white top with different color body. Do you think the truck would look ok if I leave the interior metal all white, the top all white, and the body a different color like 505 green? The interior upholstery is Cheyenne Super dark olive.

The reason I'm even thinking about this now and not just waiting is because the flat bed I have planned for it will be next to impossible to move once it gets built. It will be better to get the back of the cab painted right away if I'm going to go with something other than white. Plus to be honest I really don't want to go through the trouble of painting the interior metal.

Re: Pondering two tone color

My vote is for green and white. No biases here!
You will have to make some decisions about door jams.
Maybe green doors on the inside with white painted door panels.

Re: Pondering two tone color

I like the green and white option on the outside for sure. Just don't know if it will look weird with all the inside metal white, including jambs etc.

I was hoping all of the green that's on the inside would help it not look too off. Door panels, seat cover, visors, dash pad, and headliner ... All green.

Wood floor on the flatbed. And I don't disagree that white looks great. I really love Oldirons (Dennis) beautiful flatbed.

Re: Pondering two tone color

Personally, I would stay white IF you are not going to also paint the interior the new body color (white with olive interior is a great combo). If you decide to paint the interior, I’d go hog wild and be the only kid on your block with a C30 in custom two one. I vote 556 dark olive over med olive since you already have the olive interior.

Re: Pondering two tone color

Hmm. This is a good question. In my opinion... white interior will not look ok if the whole body is green other than the roof, but I think it would look ok if you left the white down the middle between trim.

Whichever way you go though, I think the jams and rockers should match the exterior. It just seems strange to have a transition anywhere other than under the door-cab seal.

I will say both are very nice combos...

Re: Pondering two tone color

I think it will look like you changed color and didn't paint the interior. In '67 the fancy truck interiors got painted same color as upholstery, so your interior would be painted dark olive by the '67 standards. White paint would be for a parchment interior. But I don't think that would look good either

Re: Pondering two tone color

I appreciate all of the input. Ill just keep it white since I really do like it.

This may sound blasphemes but I never gave the 67-72 trucks a second look until a friend had one he brought back to life. It was dark olive and white. I don't know what did it, maybe my involvement giving him a hand, or when he was done that it just looked amazing. Even though I've never had a dark olive truck its still my favorite color, next would be the 505 green. I was just thinking it would have been nice in the 505 because it would be more of a working truck green. Dark olive is (to me) a more classy truck color.

So .... white it stays haha!

Agreed on all counts! I left mine 504 medium olive because I didn't want to deal with changing the interior color.

Before you ask, I haven't seen it since January and I don't know if they've touched it since it was primered.

Re: Pondering two tone color

Second one is an interesting combo. I don't think Ive seen a what I would call a reverse two tone like that, at least I don't remember seeing one.

That's a common color combination. My truck was originally White/Hugger Orange/White, but my FiL had the body below the lower molding painted orange when he had it repainted. I happen to like the White/Hugger Orange/White paint scheme, and if I live long enough, It'll get made back that way.
