Reproduction Eagle Venture hoods!

[NOT MINE] Saw a story about these hoods just today and after a couple google searches found a company selling them. Not sure if this was already widely known just thought I'd share. (If this is against the rules please remove.) I will definitely be buying one of these in the near future. I have a truck build I've been going through in my mind that this hood makes 100x cooler

I don't know. Without a picture of what it looks like installed it is difficult to tell if it is good.

Wait, here's one! Hmm. I thought it looked very similar. Cool, but I'll stick with my stocker. Have not heard of Eagle Venture - affiliated with Hickey? One buy the other out? Interesting.

Re: Reproduction Eagle Venture hoods!

Hickey didn't make them until 73 and up. Eagle ventures made them for 70-72 there's a good thread on here by original maker of the hoods. Autofab still makes them. Matt

Re: Reproduction Eagle Venture hoods!

I own an original Eagle Ventures hood, and after checking the new hoods out, I can tell you that the new ones are no where near the quality of the originals. Mine is fully reinforced on the underside with what looks like an ABS frame. it accepts the stock hood hinges and core support latch mechanism. The new one looks like just a thin skin that needs to be pinned down. Some old pics of mine for reference:

Re: Reproduction Eagle Venture hoods!

Would you know if this hood uses stock hinge springs? Being fiberglass and much lighter I was considering trying to find ones with less force. Thanks

Re: Reproduction Eagle Venture hoods!

When I had the stinger hood on my Chevelle they sold springs for the factory hinges . Was a much lighter spring rate so as not to crack the hood . I would contact the company .
