I am going to swap out my foot pedal E brake so that I can re route my E-brake cable along the floor. I also dont like how close it is to my Kick pannel speakers. just want to see what pieces I need to do so.

How visible is the hand brake when the truck is together ? not sure what to do I dont like how close the 72-72 E- Brake pedal is to my kick pannel speakers. I am going to cut out the area for the HIGH beam switch and move it to the right about 3" that way I wont have to search for the switch with my foot.

I'm in the process of removing hand brake from my '67 and converting to foot pedal. I don't care for the looks of the hand lever.

I don't know what to do ????????? Kinda Stucks . Cause the Foot one is really close to the Speakers and the Hand one looks Ugly. Kinda. Lastly I need one for safty. >?????????

If you are going to run a splint seat or buckets with a console, why not incorporate a small handbrake into the console. Like something from a ricer/small vehicle. It would see a fairly easy fab up. heck it may even work under a bench, or between the bench and the drivers door. Just some food for thought. maybe way off, but I have modified some ralley cars up like this in order to have the handbrakes for 180's and control skids.

I'm also debating on what to do for an e-brake. I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket unit and maybe mount it right in front of the (bench) seat, mounted parallel with the seat. That is assuming the handle isn't too tall when engaged. Or mount in on the trans hump, where a floor shifter would go for example. I was looking at this one made by Lokar.....

This is a bad picture but I tried to show where mine is sitting right now. I like the hand brake! It is a really good conversation piece (lol )and it is one less pedal on the floor. I dont want to clutter up the area between the seats or put a foot pedal in. I would get a better shot for you but it is in storage for the winter right now. Mine blends in well , yes I know the truck is black, but no one knows it is there until I actually put it on.

There are hydraulic locks that you can use. I used to work at a parts store that sold them they are pretty small. about 6"-8" long but you would have to plum in hydraulic lines into the cab. Or what about using a line lock solenoid? I do not know what the continues duty rating is on one but that may work as well. Also some of the compact trucks from 70's-80's (datsuns and couriers) used a smaller more compact hand brake, the pull and turn style.

Why not just put a roll control unit on it and get rid of it all together? Would this drain the battery down?
