Ok so it sounds like the consensus is bags with leaf springs is a bad idea. Understood.

Sometimes its worth it in the long run to ante up and get the right things, the first time. You will be much happier with a link instead of leafs. I have had like 6 bagged trucks and have learned that the hard way first hand. It sucks redoing work that you thought you had finished.

The rule as I've heard it is yes. The bag is only a replacement for the spring so if you don't it would be just like riding around with out shocks on regular spring based setup. I don't have mine in yet and while it doesn't ride bad it is rather bouncy.

I would say yes. Before I put my shocks on, bouncing on the truck was like bouncing on a exercise ball. Now it feels nice.

Yes, and I say sway bars are good to have as well if there is room. They all just work together to offer a nicer ride quality.

A suggestion on the speedo, go to Speedhut.com
and check out there GPS speedo's no cables needed just a small transponder

Aired out. I elected to not notch the frame and cab so boards are about 4" off the ground
