finally rolled it out of the garage. I originally ordered the salt flat specials but they sent me the wrong one's. I decided to keep them instead of waiting another 4-8 weeks. Now I'm just waiting on a few misc. wiring parts to put the front clip back on finish the front wiring. Then hook up the gauges. Maybe by next weekend I'll here this baby sing... If anyone wants to know, the the wheel/tire combo is 255/60/17's on 17x8's in the front and 285/60/17's on 17x9.5's in the back. I kind of wish I'd gone a little wider in the back (since it's mini-tubbed now anyway) but these will have to do for now. Man it feels good to be nearing the end, at least for now....

Now I'm really wanting to shave the heater box so you can see them better (and get better access to my spark plugs.)

bowtie, Salt Flats Specials are rims. Check my sig where it says '68 C10, I've got a "photoshop" version of what I thought they would look like.... No pics of the mini-tub yet. I'm only half done with that (you can guess which half).

Love to see big blocks! What did you run for the pulley setup on the front, I am trying to come up with some right now for my project. Do you have your headers yet?

Chevyfarmer, the pulley setup is off of a 86 1 ton. It has the serpentine belt for the crank, waterpump, and alternator, and a v-belt for the power steering. Works great and looks clean IMHO. My headers will go on tonight. They are Hedman Ceramic coated 2" primaries with 3" collectors. Pic of them installed in my avatar.

I do prefer the TT's to the saltflats on our trucks.The salts look good on fenderless coupes.

Those pulleys look VERY clean. Is the whole setup is off a 86 454 1 ton 2wd? Power steeting pump & brackets, alternator brackets, water pump pulley and harmonic pulley? Those headers look great as well, once you get them installed please post a pic, thanks for the motivation.

Question...

Did the valve covers come with the breather holes, or did you have to add them yourself? I have been looking at those same covers for my truck, but was dissapointed to learn they didn't have any breather holes. The orange ones that come on the 572 crates have breather provisions, but the black ones didn't I thought.

Bamm, no deal other than the first set had a "custom" price and the set I replaced them with didn't.

BB73, the valve covers did not have provisions for breathers, they had to be cut. It's not easy to start cutting on a brand new set of high $$ covers...
