Re: New member with barn find

Almost ready for paint. I have some work to finish on the inside and maybe tweak a fender or door but it's ready to go. I have a body guy all lined up but he wants to finish up a 66 nova before he take the blazer.

Re: New member with barn find

Well, after two years of picking away at this think its off to the painters. I feel like I lost an old friend but it will be back and I have the top and drivetrain to get started on.

I'll keep the pics coming. I was afraid to ask how long it will take but he said he is slow.

Well at least you know he is slow, maybe that means excellent work and low price, one can hope right.

John, that is one of my fav. camera angles (3/4 view) . Truck looks great, nice job on all the gaps. What wheels are you going to use, or is that something your keeping to yourself till the build is complete

Re: New member with barn find

I have these 9.75 steelies. I'm going to paint them white with the hub caps. I'm thinking BFG 16'5-35's. I know the BFG's run small + my axles have 456 gears, I hope they will fit with the 1 tons and the 2 1/2 lift. the 35's should help keep the engine rpm down a bit more than 33's.

Re: New member with barn find

That will look slick, always like that look. Beauty rings or not? Dont know if they make them for 16.5 wheels...i thick the 35s and 4 1/2s should be perfect

Had the bike out today for four hours, had a walk in inspection on fri. and sat. at my shop i use, so i just decided to keep it out and ride. Hows yours running?

Re: New member with barn find

Progress pics, I stopped by the body shop today to test fit some moldings and get some pics. I'm happy with it so far, he really dialed the doors in far better that I had them. The pass side door is a repop and it was giving me a hard time. He also pulled and did a rough coat on some dents. He's mainly working on the quarters right now but soon he wants to pull the frontend off and get it ready to cut it in. I forgot to ask about the windshield, with the frontend off I think it would be a good time to install it.

Re: New member with barn find

I got a couple more pics from the body shop Today, It doesn't look like it's getting any farther but he has the doors, fenders and tailgate ready for paint and he is working on the door jams and firewall. I can't wait till it's all in one color primer.

It is hard to wait, but the thing is that it is yours and coming along a step at a time, going to rock I tell you, sits so nice already.

Re: New member with barn find

Looks like it's almost done at the body shop, I better finish up the hard top before the blazer comes home. I got the top sander down to remove the texture and fix all the chips. I'm going to use tintible Raptor bed liner, I just got the white paint and thiner today.

Truck is sure looking good...but that steering wheel just has to go. What color is the green called, looks a bit darker than the mint green I have seen.
