1963 C-10 panel shop truck

Been working on this 63 C-10 panel for 3 months already and slowly making it road worthy in the near distant future. Plans are: installing p/s, power brakes, donor crate 350 engine with less than 50 hrs from an air plane launcher purchased in an auction, rebuild 350 trans, after market a/c and lowered static drop. She's gonna look rough on the out side but she will have new drive train and make it dependable for the shop owner. 1st day getting it to the shop involved removing all the flat tires and sand blasting the rusted ugly wheels and powder coated them and new rubber. Engine and trans coming out on the 1st pic..

Yup chevy mike! It felt like I was in an episode of "Fast N Loud" pulling this panel out of high weeds and cleaning it up for days, lots of mice droppings

Well the suspension and brakes needed lots of attention. Rebuilt all the brakes and installed a capt fab brake booster mount bracket but kept it all drums...

Back in the days you wanna lower your ride people heat the coil springs.. who ever did this didn't do it correctly. Installed CPP lowering springs with the new shocks, shock relocaters, adjustable rear axle trac bar and seal up and service the diff..

Thanxs chakah its gonna be flat black with shop logos on the sides... Owner doesn't want it to look "pretty" which I thought was odd since he has done custom paint jobs on motorcycles and VW trikes for 43 yrs... I been busy patching up the front fender with a used donor I found for free and sand blasting and powder coating truck parts.. Good thing some one else will be doing the body work and paint..

Re: 1963 C-10 panel shop truck

Completed the p/s upgrade, installed a chrome 32" tilt GM steering column with Mooneyes red flake steering wheel, fabbed and installed a dash radio cut out replacement patch (somebody damaged the dash prying out the radio). Bought the Grant GM steering wheel adapter kit and stripped and powder coated the post cover red.. Finishing up the AAW wire harness and new gauges. Pics coming later..

Re: 1963 C-10 panel shop truck

Finished up the new gauges and billet insert with painted bezel. Had to drop the fuel tank again for the new modified fuel tank sender fabrication to work with the new fuel gauge...

Where did you get the new taillights?

It's looking good.

I'm driving mine but I need to get the heater installed or park it for the winter. Plan was to get a vintage air installed but that won't happen for a few more months $$$ ya know.

MikeS the new tail lights I found here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290897525628...D1#ht_70wt_709 At that time I was ordering parts from Truck and Car shop and it was not listed in their catalog. I asked them to include the Ebay listing and they did so I got away from paying their high shipping cost!

Thanks man, you're right about the shipping.

My lenses are ok, I'm really wanting an LED light set.

Re: 1963 C-10 panel shop truck

Well it was time for the shifter for the 350 transmission. I have installed in the past Lokar, Gennie, and now American Shifter.. From the 3 my favorite by far is the Gennie 23" swan leg for my 700R4 I have on my 60 truck. Installation on the American Shifter was easy and very universal.. Anybody like to share any comments on American Shifter Co. product? Here's a blurry pic..sorry..
