65 C10 fender fitment issues

I recently put the front end back on after some mechanical work by my left fender won't go forward enough to clear the door. Right now I'm not too concerned as my truck is in primer but I need to know what I may have missed as it wasn't rubbing this bad before disassembly
Thanks

Re: 65 C10 fender fitment issues

I always hand my inner fenders 1st, then radiator support. Get them square 1st then, start with outer fenders and then grill support. When I do my outers....I start with the two large bolts in the cowl and then the lower bolt. I mock the grill support to the front fenders then cinch it all up. Just what works for me. I use paint sticks to get my door/front fender gaps and comes out clean every time. Just reinstalled this front end alone this weekend on my 63...

Re: 65 C10 fender fitment issues

Thanks 1963c10. I took everything off except the inner fenders but after the car show in Prescott the 25th, I'll loosen things up and do some readjusting.
I appreciate the info especially the paint stick info.

Re: 65 C10 fender fitment issues

No problem. Also....here is a diagram form the 63 shop manual. Shows the door and door to fender gaps (factory specs at least), which I'm sure weren't all up to par when they left the factory.
